Mans “Getaway” device was zero help.

There’s a California man named Matthew Piercey and he’s been running a scam to the tune of about $35 million. He was convincing people to invest in with him but he would just keep their money. This has been going on since 2015 and the FBI finally figured it out and went to his house to arrest him.

Well, Matthew had a plan…. He has what is called an Underwater Submersible “aka” sea scooter. He thought he was going to get away by driving his truck to a lake and using the sea scooter to evade arrest.

It obviously didn’t work because he jumped into a LAKE. Also, he didn’t have a way to breathe under water so he kept coming up for air. Oh, and the lake was freezing.

The FBI finally took him into custody after 25 mins and he was arrested for wire fraud, mail fraud, money laundering, and witness tampering. Matthew is facing up to 20 years in prison and possibly hundreds of thousands in fines.
