Army veteran, Jimmy Novak has been walking 22 miles a day from Washington state to Orlando, Florida to raise awareness for the 22 veterans who die each day from suicide.

He completed his 3,000-mile trip today when he arrived at Disney World in Orlando. He’s raised thousands of dollars online during his trip across the country, and it also happens to be he 43rd birthday.

As a veteran, he says he’s dealt with anxiety, depression, and suicidal thoughts himself and wanted to do something to encourage veterans to seek help early. Novak told Fox35,

“I’m very grateful to still be here. So, what I hope to do by being out here is to encourage people who are struggling with anxiety, depression and suicidal thoughts to reach out and seek help early.”
