The Morning HOG presents The Brew Review!

Riggs & Steve from The Morning HOG were joined by Josh from S.R. Perrott for a brand new edition of The Brew Review. Josh brought with him an extremely uncanny collection of brews this morning. You’ll notice that each beer gets stronger as we go. Right away, we’ve got one from Leinenkugel called Leinenkugel Red Lager with an ABV of 4.9%. Leinenkugel’s Red Lager was once a staple to many across the country. Now it’s coming back with a new remastered element: dry hopped with locally sourced Wisconsin hops. The result is a red lager with a smooth caramel flavor & bright hop finish. Pairs with: Grilled meat, fried food, & hot and spicy dishes. After that, we’ll pay a visit to a brewery out there in DeBary called Central 28 featuring a delicious IPA, Show Pigeon. Clocking in at 6.7% ABV, this American style IPA is clean & balanced with big hop aroma & flavor. An assertive bitterness for balance that is not harsh or lingering compliments a light malt backbone. Notes of grapefruit, sweet & bitter orange, lemon peel, pine & guava course through the aggressive hop profile, both in flavor & the aroma.

After a short recess, the boys dove back into the beer pool somewhere deep in Louisiana with one from Abita called Fluffernutter cruising in at 8% ABV. Brewed with milk sugar, vanilla, & peanut flavor, this sweet golden ale boasts a creamy mouthfeel layered with flavors of toasted malt & notes of marshmallow & peanut butter. And hitting clean-up is the big daddy of ’em all. From Oskar Blues comes a beer titled Ten Fidy. Why is it called Ten Fidy, you ask? It’s simple: this stout has a whopping 10.5% ABV. This titanic, immensely viscous stout is loaded with inimitable flavors of chocolate-covered caramel & coffee and hide a hefty 98 IBUs underneath the smooth blanket of malt. It is made with enormous amounts of two-row malt, chocolate malt, roasted barley, flaked oats & hops. That’s gonna do it for this week’s Morning HOG Brew Review.
